Past, and future projects will be added here!
One of the few ways I explored my intrests was through internships. One of which was NBCUniversal Media Fellows during my second winter break in February. For two consecutive years, 2019 and 2020,I was a Fellow and had such an unique experience. This internship was all about collaboration; myself and my group had to think of ways to promote and market given case studies to the younger generation. Apart from the fact that we got to see Jimmy Fallon's studio and touch the chairs that are apparently made out of red Ferrai leather, as a group, we had to use our ideas to produce a final product.
If it is one thing that I am passionate about is sharing my knowledge of swimming. Waterproofing has opened my eyes to so many children who want to learn how to swim and find the water fulfilling. For 4 years, I have seen the smiles of accomplishment and the eagerness to learn on the faces of the swimmers. That alone keeps me going and persuades me to dedicate one hour every Saturday. In the fall of my junior year, I started volunteering at a start up, First Strokes Ltd, as an instructor. Unlike Waterproofing, this program focuses on teaching high school students. I would have never imagined teaching fellow classmates how to swim and the experience is definitely one I appreciate. Swimming is not something that should be a priveldge; everyone should have access to a program/facility where they can learn this life skill and prevent the fear of water in the future.
Since the first grade I remember drawing flowers repeatedly with Crayola markers. I remember not knowing the good amount of colour to apply, usualy leaving me with a wet paper bleeding with colours. I taught myself how to draw and paint becasue with each art piece I felt the urge to start a new one. Art serves as an outlet to clear my mind and connect with my artwork. It is like I become one with the canvas or the paper. Here is a tip if you don't know what to draw: take a piece of paper and and crumple it up. After, reopen the paper and try to make something out of the newly formed crevices. Then you can do whatever you want!
