If it wasn't obvious before, my name is Jadyn George and I am Guyanese-American. August 20, 2017, was the day I had to leave everything behind, my friends and my teamates, and relocate to New York City. As a swimmer for 13 years, I have learnt many skils that have contributed to the person I am today: resilience, teamwork, and confidence. The resilence derives from waking up at 5:00 every morning before school to train. Teamwork - from the encouragment my teamates and I gave each other during practice. My confidence comes from others and myself believing in me; it comes from seeing the results pay off at a meet, ensuring that I was doing something right. I use these traits that have become a part of me in my everyday life whether it be for academics, community serivce, leading, and even internships.
